During our expedition, we are not only exploring traditional Malagasy music and rituals, but also listening to and looking at the Christian churches in Madagascar. During our stay in Ambodifotra on the island of Sainte-Marie, we attended Mass in the oldest Catholic church in the country. In addition, a girls’ vocal group from an orphanage run by the nuns of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary sang for us.
